What a Weekend!

Playing hard like yesterday’s 30 miler set me up real nice to be sore as all hell and ready to ditch churchgoing in favor of 2 hours in the basement straightening up, throwing out, and cleaning up. All while listening to this:

and selections from this:

It was a very productive two hours.

Then, I went out this afternoon to get a new seatpost:

I think it is the most beautiful thing in the world, especially after yesterday. Instead of that little stand that sells bags of Doritos on the side of the NCR, someone should open up a bike shop.

I also go a new bike lock, since Jen stole my the one I got a while back.

I just chugged a Brooklyn Weisse Beer and all is well here at La Casa DeVille in the Forge.

Things left to do: finish dinner (roast chicken with red potatoes and carmelized onions, broccoli), make chicken stock, give Sophy a bath, get bike ready for the commute tomorrow, read the new issue of Bike:

which I couldn’t resist given the cover story… a man’s work is never done.

Life is good.

  1. Nice seat post! I see it’s got two bolts, kinda like an insurance policy. My memory is a bit fuzzy, but I think there used to be a bike shop about a mile or two past the 83 bridges on the NCR…

  2. There is a bike shop! There is a rental place near Phoenix and then up my way there is a bike shop and some little stores. Over closer to Monkton Rd.
